Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank is a shameless cheapskate. A dollar means more to Barney than his dignity. Congressman Frank’s net worth is almost $2-million dollars and the man quibbles over a dollar? It appears Franken had the brazen effrontery to cause a scene over not receiving a $1 senior discount while boarding the ferry on his way to “Fire Island’s popular gay haunt, The Pines.”
Supposedly on the way to join the boys on the beach, spinning around in the sand to the tune of “YMCA,” Barney had the temerity to give a ticket clerk a hard time for not giving senior discounts to people without the proper ID.
Poor misunderstood, put upon Barney attempted to board the Fire Island ferry in Sayville and because he “didn’t have the required Suffolk County Senior Citizens ID,” the clerk followed the rules and denied the $1 discount. An indignant Barney Frank freaked!
A witness claimed “Frank made such a drama over the senior rate” the stranger “contemplated offering him the dollar to cool down the situation.”
Frank frequents The Pines and is often spotted at hotspots like The Blue Whale sipping cocktails with friends like partner James Ready. Farmer Ready was busted in 2007 for marijuana possession in Maine while Barney was relaxing on the front porch supposedly unaware that those weren’t oversized zucchini plants growing in the garden.
Although hailing from Massachusetts, with all Barney’s political clout it’s a given Frank will wangle himself a Sayville Senior Citizens ID. Then by August when the Congressman takes the ferry to the Pines Annual Ascension Beach party, where Frank “made news last year when he was spotted looking uncomfortable around a bevy of topless, well-built men,” the frugal Congressman with the entitlement attitude can keep the four quarters safely stashed away in the change purse of his pink over-the-shoulder beach bag.
