A prime example of a strategy being employed in an effort to elevate government defined acts of charity above traditional altruistic deeds, which in the past, were dictated by conviction, conscience and religious tenet is the Obama youth brigade. However, there is a darker side to this seemingly value and character driven policy. Just like “Hope and Change” has morphed into depression and socialism so too will the voluntary brigade of youth that Obama is confiscating for his leftist, socialistic purposes.
Obama is engineering a larger endeavor to control our children than just making sure 13 year old girls have a ride to their scheduled dilation and curettage appointment, while their uninformed parents think they are getting a pedicure. He wants to make sure he can control their belief system and couch it in a moral uniform that appeals to the higher nature of American citizenry. In the spirit of volunteerism Obama has become the moral legislator of charity, service and unselfishness.
Volunteerism is defined as the giving of time, effort and talent to a need or cause without profiting monetarily. Obama plans to woo our youth in a very clever and devious way. Luring young people to serve their nation as “unpaid assistants” but tying a stipend or college credit to the action, while constantly reminding the youth about the economic crisis and the high cost of obtaining a college education. This is the entry into our children’s lives and souls and the beginning of the plan with obligatory edicts to follow.
The process has already started with the initiation of a bill that passed in the House of Representatives entitled the Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education or GIVE Act. This legislation will serve to do just the opposite, it will not GIVE it will TAKE away. What Obama fails to mention is that his supposed “volunteer” (compulsory) junkets come with a massive loss of freedom? Our youth will be clocking in and being monitored by Big Brother in an effort to secure the successful proselytizing of youth corps in the religious conviction and moral code of the left. Obama, while on the road, usurping the role of the ROTC the left demonizes, recruited for his task force taking the opportunity to demote traditional military service in moral value and commandeered civilian service on the decency continuum to the pinnacle.
The GIVE Act or HR 1388 appeals to the giving, helping nature of all Americans and underscores the moral nature of serving your country, community and greater causes. Obama stresses repeatedly, “It is up to every one of us to do his or her small part to make the world a better place.” Let’s not forget that the world as it is, is one he despises and desires to turn it into a world as he thinks it should be, which includes the control of our youth. Saul Alinsky can be quoted as saying, “As an organizer I start from where the world is, as it is, not as I would like it to be” (1971: xix). The making of the world in the image and likeness of Obama includes the corralling of our youth into community service that is dictated by the state where God and family foundations are vanquished.
The HR 1388 bill does not yet make service compulsory; because of intense opposition to mandatory service. Obama is clever enough to know that the American people need to be boiled slowly, like frogs unaware, as to not jump out of the pot. So in an effort to lower the heat with fortitude and willingness to wait, the compulsory servitude question was tossed to committee to look into an undercover maneuver to mandate volunteerism in the future for all college as well as middle and high school students and many adults. The concept of mandated volunteerism is oxymoronic in nature, which should make it more palatable to an American public who doesn’t seem to grasp what is happening right before their eyes. Grandma won’t get it until she’s forbidden to hand out pamphlets, in front of the supermarket, for the Republican National Committee and is forced instead to canvas for ACORN.
Forced labor is now being couched in patriotism together with a big smile and an Obama emblem. What could be more patriotic than serving your nation in the manner of the military? Joe Biden already informed us that paying taxes was patriotic. Rahm Emmanuel, author of The Plan: Big Ideas for America, has the over-sized ear of Barack Obama and is a staunch proponent of mandatory service, which includes a three month indoctrination period. Rahm calls this type of indentured service the real Patriot Act. The following quotes are from pages 61-62 of the book The Plan: Big Ideas for America by Emmanuel.
It’s time for a real Patriot Act that brings out the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every young American. Under the plan, all Americans between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five will be asked to serve their country by going through three months of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service…Here is how it will work. Young people will know that between the ages of eighteen and twenty-five the nation will enlist them for three months of civilian service. They’ll be asked to report for three months of basic civil defense training in their state or community… These young people will be available to address their communities’ most pressing needs.
Can anyone say Hitler Youth? The GIVE bill is promising to provide college funding to students as well as linking student loans to service. However, service, be it volunteer or mandatory comes with a strict list of prohibited activities and ineligible organizations that members of the Obama’s Youth Brigade are forbidden to engage in including; attempting to influence legislation, organization or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, partisan political activities or strikes and finally, and I quote (10), “…such other activities as the corporation may prohibit,” which in itself is a chilling prospect. The Obama Youth are forbidden to exercise many of their first amendment rights in the name of serving their nation and moral contribution to society. It should be named the Barack Obama School-aged Indoctrination and Sedition Act of 2009.
The Obama plan is to conscript a horde of young people and then to prevent them from doing or being involved in anything outside of what Obama deems acceptable behavior and activity. It will start by using student loans as the lure and will progress into a massive endeavor where young people will be drafted into service and will be prevented from attending or helping to re-roof their local church, cannot share their faith, pray publicly with a friend, attend a tea party, a spiritual concert or voice their own convictions or political ideas…and will be penalized if they do so.
Once Hitler assumed control over the German state, he used the Government to make the Hitler Youth the country’s all encompassing youth movement…seeing the indoctrination of young Germans of critical importance. In the same year that they took power, the NAZIs organized German youth organizations into two branches of the Hitler Youth (Hitler Jugen), on branch for boys and one for girls. Membership was eventually made compulsory and all boys had to report to a neighborhood office to have his racial background checked and be registered for membership.
The Bible says, selah at the end of many of its Psalms, in Hebrew the word selah means think on this awhile. After we get done absorbing the direction and consequences that lay before a nation and a people whose government is fostering the plummeting of a nation headlong into apostasy and whose children are being turned from the truth, it would be a good time for us all to pray that, “…the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed and the ears of those who hear will listen” (Isaiah 32:3).
People have accused me of being angry, negative, unhappy…you know what, they are right…I’m angry, negative and unhappy about the future of my nation.
