Nothing is more rewarding than seeing liberals suffer as a result of poor political choices. That’s what is going on in New York City right now, and it’s a micro example of what has already started taking place on a national level with the implementation of ObamaCare.
This time it’s the wealthy liberal residents of the Big Apple’s Upper East Side. Unfortunately, New York City elected a nasty, malicious, socialist mayor. Bill de Blasio is a radical left-wing progressive with limited experience who was relatively unknown six months ago. Sound familiar?
Now that Bill de Blasio, who everyone knew had an ax to grind against the rich, is behaving spitefully and vindictively toward those he reviles, the reviled are suddenly expressing shock.
Democrat voters apparently think that if they support a political candidate who has plans to level the playing field against a phantom group of evil people, their own exemption from the ensuing pain can be bought with a vote.
Bill the jolly “Smackdown’ dancer” promised income equality and social justice, and plans to make NYC into a place that is no longer “the exclusive domain of the one percent,” and is proving it by ‘smacking down’ residents in wealthy neighborhoods who are now snowed in.
Think of all the people who voted for Obama and then were shocked when they lost their health insurance! Wasn’t that supposed to only happen to the mean Republicans who opposed socialized health care?
This time Mayor Bill is making his point by using a snowstorm to send a message to the rich people that Equity Plowing is the new norm in New York City. De Blasio is ‘leveling the snow drifts’ by leaving the people who work for a living snowed in while sending snow plows to neighborhoods where residents have a more urgent need to get their unemployment checks to the check-cashing store.
One Upper East Side resident, Molly Jong, had this to say about the new mayor: “He is trying to get us back. He is very divisive and political.” Get back at you for what Molly? Success?
According to Ms. Jong, de Blasio is stereotyping the area, and because of his preconceived notions is discriminating against the Upper East Side in an effort to foster fairness with a snowplow. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know how Molly Jong voted in the mayoral election?
Molly the writer ranted on:
By not plowing the Upper East Side, he is saying, ‘I’m not one of them.’ But we have everyone in this area on the Upper East Side. We have rich people, middle class people, and housing projects. We have it all.
What Ms. Jong is missing here is that, to avoid being collateral damage, the middle class people and those in the housing projects should have avoided associating with the one-percenters on the Upper East Side by choosing to live on the Lower East Side, among the oppressed poor.
Sounding somewhat like an Obama supporter shocked that the Affordable Care Act has upended her life, Barbara Tamerin, for lack of a horse drawn carriage is making her way around 81st Street and Lexington Avenue with ski poles. Barbara, the cross-country skier, declared, “I can’t believe de Blasio could do this. He is putting everyone in danger.”
Hello? Barbara, I don’t know who you voted for, but in their effort to punish one class, socialists do put everyone in danger; it’s what they do.
Take the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner, for instance. Isn’t he putting the whole world in danger, including the peaceniks, by attempting to equalize world power by allowing Iran to go nuclear?
Ranting on about the Snow Plow Socialist, Tamerin continued:
What is he thinking? We’re supposed to get up to a foot of snow and nobody on the Upper East Side is supposed to blink an eye? I can barely get around and I’m on snowshoes! All of the buses are stuck and can’t go anywhere. He’s crazy. We need Mayor Bloomberg back!
New Yorkers begging for Nanny-State Bloomberg to come back sound a lot like Bush haters admitting after Obama started pulling his antics that G.W. wasn’t so bad after all.
Flower shop worker Martin Cisse, 45, is of a similar opinion, saying, “De Blasio is trying to hurt the more wealthy people by ignoring us but there’s no logic to that. There are a lot of blue collar working people out here driving trucks and trying to get around too.”
Now, sort of like the Obamacare website explanation, the excuse coming from New York City’s Sanitation Commissioner, John Doherty, is that one spreader had a broken GPS and was not reporting progress to the PlowNYC website. “The GPS was not working,” he said. “Also, traffic created a lot of problems for us in that area.”
So the new thing in socialist circles is, in the process of implementing equity, when people start freaking out, blame technology.
The lesson here is that this is how socialists operate. Those determined to foster their idea of fairness are jealous, cruel hypocrites, and in an effort to create a Marxist utopia they start by putting the rich in their place.
Rest assured that both Barack Obama and Bill de Blasio will even use healthcare and snow to level the playing field. As for those who bought the lies sold by these two liberals, well guess what: No one, not even you, is exempt from the pain!
